This step converts a text string into a base64 encoded string.

Let’s build and execute the “base64EncodeDef” example.
- Create a new definition called “base64EncodeDef”
- Select the definition and click the “design” button
- Drag a “base64Encode” and “base64Decpde” step to the canvas
- Connect the dots between the Start, base64Encode and base64Decode steps
- Click on the “base64Encode” step to configure its “Settings” properties. Provide a name to the step. Provide a text string to encode. Provide a variable/global to store the value.
- Click on the “base64Decode” step to configure its “Settings” properties. Provide a variable/global having the text to decode. Provide a variable/global to store the decoded value.
- The “Logging” setting configuration is necessary for documentation and also measure the workflow progress and the percent complete. This is acheived by configuring the step state and percent fields individually as shown in the images below. Configure the “Logging” using the following properties.
- Save the process definition, create a new process instance and execute. Render the process instance. Click on the process step to view the properties. The step should encode the text and store the result in the variable/global.
