Update Waiting Process Instance Variables and Globals

Learn to update variables and globals to a sleeping process instance.

This function updates the variables, globals, and workflow design changes to the sleeping instances. 

 

Update Variables Values.

On the Process Instances page, select the process from the table and click the Utils—Update—Variable Values menu option, as shown below. 

 

The variables with the current values are displayed below. You may provide the new values by clicking the Update button. 

 

The variables are updated, and the new values are available for the process step in the process instance. 

 

Update Global Values.

On the Process Instances page, select the process from the table and click the Utils—Update—Variable Values menu option, as shown below. 

 

The globals with their current values are displayed below. To provide new values, click the Update button. 

 

The globals are updated, and the new values are available for the process step in the process instance. 

 

Update Design.

As shown below, any process design changes can be pushed to the sleeping process instance(s). 

On the Process Instances page, select the process from the table and click the Utils - Update - Design menu option.

 

A pop-up window is displayed for confirmation. The application collates all design changes to push to the sleeping process instance (related to the definition). Click OK to proceed.  

 

The design changes are updated successfully, and a confirmation message is displayed in the top-right corner.  

 

Note: The values passed to variables or globals to a process instance through the API are retained by default, regardless of whether the values are correct.
