generateOutputDoc Step

Use this step to generate PDF document using Rich Text content

Description:

This step generates a PDF document using the Rich Text Content.

 

Inputs

  • docContent– Document Content
  • fileVariable– Variable to hold the file name of the output document
  • templatefilePath- Path to the template file 
 

 

Returns

  • True – step executed successfully
  • False – step failed to execute

Example:

Let’s build and execute the “generateOutputDocDef” example.          

  • Create a new definition called “generateOutputDocDef”
  • Select the definition and click the “design” button
  • Drag a “generateOutputDoc” step from the toolbox
  • Connect the dots between the start and “generateOutputDoc” step
  • Click on the “generateOutputDoc” step to configure its “Settings” properties

 

  • Click on the button to include the rich text document content. A popup is displayed with the rich text user interface. 

 

  • Click the “generateOutputDoc” step to configure its “Advanced” properties. Provide the template path reference to use to generate the PDF document.

 

  • The “Logging” setting configuration is necessary for documentation and also measures the workflow progress and the percent complete. This is achieved by configuring the step state and percent fields individually, as shown in the images below. Configure the “Logging” using the following properties.

 

  • Save the process definition, create a process instance, and execute. Render the process instance and select the step variables/properties to view. 

 

  • The PDF Document using the rich text content is rendered here for reference.
