The Import function enables you to import an exported process definition into the application. The imported file overwrites the selected definition, making the changes irreversible. We recommend creating a snapshot of the Process Definition to restore previous versions.
Import Process Definition.
On the Process Definition page, choose the process from the table and click on the Import - XML menu option.

A pop-up window appears for configuration. Select the XML file from the local folder and click the “Update Definition XML” button.

The XML file is imported and replaces the chosen definition. A confirmation message appears in the top-right corner.

View Import History.
On the Process Definition page, choose the definition and click the View - History menu option.

Select the History tab and sort the list by the “UpdateOn” column. The import definition event is visible in the “Message” column.

Import process definition Step properties.
This function retrieves a process step configuration from the XLS file and replaces the existing step configuration.
This feature is helpful when multiple process step configuration changes need to be made in the process definition. The process definition is first exported by selecting the Properties menu option. This XLS file contains the definition ID, step ID, item name, item description, and step configuration values. The configuration changes are then made in the XLS file and imported, overwriting the process definition.
In the example below, let's try to modify the “Milestone” step properties - “Wait Till” configuration and..

.. “Time Zone” configuration.

On the Process Definition page, choose the definition from the table and click the Export - Properties menu option.

A pop-up window appears for configuration. Select the “Milestone” step's “Wait Till and Time zone” settings. Click the Export button to start. The “Milestone” step configurations are downloaded as an XLS file to the local folder.

Open the XLS file and note the “Wait Till and Time zone” values.

You can modify the “Wait Till and Time zone” configuration values as shown below. Save and close the XLS file.

On the Process Definition page, choose the definition from the table and click the Import - Properties menu option.

Select the updated XLS file from the local folder and click the “Update Definition List” button to start.

This function imports the “Milestone” process step configuration from the XLS file and overwrites the existing configuration.

You can refresh the process definition design page and go to the “Milestone” step to review the changes. As observed, the “Wait Till” configuration reflects the new value.

As observed, the “Time zone” configuration is displaying the new value.
