Task Delegation

Learn to delegate tasks.

Last published at: December 1st, 2025

The purpose of task delegation is to define delegation entries so that if a user is unavailable for a period, their tasks are automatically reassigned to another user during that time. The delegated tasks can also be set to return to the original task owners once the duration ends.

The task delegations can be easily managed using this user interface.

You must navigate to the Engage > Tasks > Task Delegation page to assign the tasks.

To create a new task delegation, choose the User from the drop-down list and click on the Actions - Create menu option.

The Create Leave Details pop-up window appears for configuration. You need to set the delegation Start and End dates. Use the “All/Available” filter to narrow down the user list. Search for the delegated user using the Search text box. During the delegation period, select the checkboxes to “Auto-Reassign Back” and “Re-Assign All Open Tasks”. In the text box provided, provide the reason for the delegation. Click on the Create button to confirm. Note: The search feature includes a list of all active users for the Admins during configuration. For regular users, the search feature shows a list of active users within the same application group.

A delegation entry is created for “Regular User,” with all OPEN and future tasks assigned to the delegated user “AlphaA.” A confirmation message appears in the top-right corner. After the delegation period expires, the application reassigns the open tasks to the original owner.

To view delegated tasks, go to the Engage—Tasks page. Choose the User from the drop-down menu and select the Delegated option from the Tasks list. Note: The “Task Owner” is the original user, and the “AssignedTo” is the delegated user.

Note: FlowWright Admin users can set up task delegations for others, while regular users can do the same themselves, provided the Task Delegation feature is enabled.
